Waiting for our court hearing day 5

I took a bunch of pictures this morning.

See Eric and Lincoln do have similar hair styles.







This tigger toy vibrates when you pull his tail. It is fun to watch him try and figure out why or how it "jumps". Gabriel is scared to death of this toy. He cries as soon as he sees it. We have another toy star that vibrates and Gabriel likes that one so we are not sure why this one scares him.














First time all 3 kids played so close together. Notice Lincoln is just watching Maria. Of course, here he might be jealous because she is playing with his car. She is getting as good as Lincoln at stealing toys. :)








This car makes a a good chew toy just as much as it makes a good push toy.

















Changing clothes. As soon as you take his pants off up goes the feet so he can check out his toes. The second picture I am tickling his thighs, he is very ticklish. Half naked baby, we change him bottom first then top, so he is never totally bare. We don't want him to get sick. Usually at this mid-point of changing we let him get up and for a little bit so he will sit still for us to finish. Last picture time to clap we have on a new outfit!

We spoiled ourselves yesterday when we slept in, today it was tough getting up so early again. But just one glance at Lincoln’s pictures hanging on our refrigerator on my way to the kitchen for coffee was a great reminder why I needed to wake up.

When Lincoln’s Nanny brought him up to the play room this morning, Eric about had a heart attack. Joel got a huge laugh out of the situation and started snapping photos. Lincoln was wearing a big fluffy pink sweatshirt. I thought our little guy looked good in pink. Eric turns to me and says “Didn’t you bring him a new outfit for today?” “Let’s change his clothes.” So we changed him into a clean outfit and didn’t bother to put the pink sweatshirt back on him. I am sure as soon as we left it went right back on him. He seems to love having his clothes changed all though it takes us longer than he really wants to sit still for. But we are learning and getting faster at it. He really likes his feet and his little thighs are very ticklish. When we were changing his clothes and he was laughing out loud from being tickled I noticed that he has a new tooth. I don’t think that was there yesterday. Now he has four on top, still only two on the bottom. He fooled me because I thought he had been feeling better the last few days because he was done teething for now.

He was in a great mood this morning and very playful. We gave him peaches in bananas today and he ate the whole jar. We had not blown bubbles in awhile so I got them out today and was blowing them to Lincoln he sort of likes them but is easily distracted away from them. They do make him smile and he occasionally tries to catch them. It is very confusing to him why they disappear as soon as he touches them. Gabriel thought they were great, which was nice because he is now teething and was not feeling very well. Maria really liked the bubbles she was amazed by them at first then she started “talking” and trying to grab them, it was great. She doesn’t normally “talk” much. Then just out of the blue Lincoln who was sitting in the middle of the three kids just started to cry. We are not sure why he started to cry but thought it was because I was paying attention to the other two kids. I set the bubbles down and picked him up and he stopped crying. Was this another jealousy instance??

Lincoln showed interest for the first time today in looking at a book. He likes to chew books but before today didn’t seem to really look at them. I was looking through the memory album that Carlos and Rosa made to take to their court hearing. Eric was sitting next to me holding Lincoln. I glanced up and Lincoln was just starring at the pages. Eric was reading to me what they wrote because it was in Spanish. I am not sure if he was really interested in the book or if he was just drooling over Maria’s pictures. We believe our Lincoln has a crush on Maria. He gets so super exited when Carlos and Rosa get to the baby house then when Maria comes in he just stares at her and races over to her. I of course am really hoping he likes books. I have a ton of them waiting at home for him.

In between our visits today we just came back to our apartment. I took a very brief nap while Eric made us lunch. Then I went and took a shower while Eric got online. Just as we were starting to pack up our stuff to go out to see Lincoln the phone rings. We knew by the ring it wasn’t going to make us happy. Aina called to let us know our afternoon visit has been canceled. They are having some special meeting at the baby house and they didn’t want any families to be there. This morning when we arrived at the baby house the head baby doctor was there. We know that the head doctor’s office is at the toddler house down the street so we had a feeling that something was going on today. Right now it is only 2:30pm; I’m not sure what we will do for the rest of the day. This morning it was 31 degrees out so we are assuming it might be warmer now. We will probably go out for a walk later to eat up some of our day and to get some exercise. We are so bummed. The days go by nicely when we see Lincoln for four hours but they last forever when we miss a visit. We are just thankfully that we were able to see him this morning.

We have not yet found out when our court hearing will be, hopefully tomorrow they will tell us.
