Appeal Period Day 7 of 15

Trying out the pacifier again. We keep it with all his toys so he thinks it is just another toy.

Playing with Gaia and her Mommy

Playing with Maria

We had another good day with Lincoln. Lots of playing and he practiced his walking a little bit. This morning he ended up falling asleep in Eric’s arm before the end of our visit. The Nanny took him from us so he could get some restful sleep in his crib. Then this afternoon when they brought him to us they told us he was awake when the other babies were sleeping and that he probably would fall asleep during our playtime again. That never happened but he did get a little grumpy for us and I carried him around the playroom for a little bit. He “talked” to me the whole time I was carrying him then I put him down and he played more.

Two of the Nannies felt the need to let us know again today just how spoiled Lincoln has become. They tell us he refuses to sleep at nap time and wants to stay up and play more than he is suppose to. They also told us he likes to take other babies toys. We know he does this but we don’t let him. We take it out of his hand tell him no and give it back to whoever he took it from. All the babies that can crawl do this. I don’t think the Nannies want to be bothered with correcting them. He also has gotten to the point where he will scream till he gets his way. He also cries more often for more food then his normal portion. This makes the Nannies upset because they are very strict on how much he is allowed to eat. They have told us in the past to be careful how much we feed him or he will get fat. Get fat? He is so skinny. He is turning 11 months old on Saturday and he wears 6 to 9 months clothes….we think he needs to eat more!

Pretty much everyday we do the same things in the play room. We could really use some new toys. It is getting harder to find something original to write on this blog. I am sure some of you have noticed that some posts are pretty short. Unless he does something new or something super cute, everyday is the same. Nine more days and he comes back to the apartment with us! Woo Hoo we know things will get really exciting then. We can’t wait to see Lincoln’s expression when we can take him outside. He loves looking out the window. We look forward to all the new firsts in his life that will happen that day and after. But we do pray everyday that he will be good for us on the three long plane rides home! He does not like to sit still for very long so it should be interesting.

In between visits today and this evening we are just hanging out in the apartment. I did make scrambled eggs and cheese for lunch today that was good for a change. This evening we have leftovers from the restaurant last night that we will probably have.

I agree with you two --- let him eat. At that age, they have SO much energy, they will burn it all off. I sometimes think Cori eats more than twice her body weight every day, but she is eating healthy foods and is skinny as a twig. She turned 4 yrs old in December, and is just large enough that her 12-month shorts aren't falling off her anymore...

I guess it is starting to feel like "Groundhog Day." That's what everyone says happens eventually. At least you are on the "downhill" countdown. And being creative is a good test of parenting skills that will be handy in the future - particularly the plane ride home!
