Appeal Period Day 6 of 15

* UPDATED 3/11/08

Eric just found the black and white setting on his camera. I really liked this one.

Here he finally figured out how to use the pacifier correctly. We brought a couple from home and he did not like them at all. This one we got has a nipple more like his bottles. He doesn't overly care for it or understand it. This is actually fine with me. I just wanted him to have an idea how to use it in case his ears bother him on the plane we can give this a try. It was pretty cute watching him trying to figure it out. He likes to put everything in his mouth and we try to take everything out of his mouth. Needless to say he was a little surprised when we encouraged him to put this in his mouth.

We had two really good visits with Lincoln today. For the most part he was very happy and smiley. He is starting to show more of his little personality everyday. He can be such a charmer but he also has a stubborn side. He does indeed really like to get his way. The three of us played together a lot today. This morning we took our carrier in to see if he would like it. We have a Playtex brand hip hammock. Basically it allows us to hold him on our hip without using our hands. He did better with it than I anticipated. He prefers to be held facing out and with this particular carrier he has to face in. He did sort of get himself twisted sideways so he was facing more outward. I carried him around in it only for a short time. We are going to start taking it more to our visits and practice using it. Lincoln and I both need to get use to it. I need him to ride in it happily and I need to build up strength to carry him in it. We only plan to use it for our trip back home. It will be a lifesaver in the airport assuming he rides in it happily. This afternoon Eric was sitting on the couch with him and I was sitting on the floor near the couch. Lincoln suddenly fell down, landing on the couch. We thought he would start to cry but instead I reached over and tickled his belly and he burst out laughing. He then did the same thing several times and laughed and laughed. We hope he understands he can only do that on the couch and not on the hard floor.

In between our visits today we went and had lunch at the Mosque Mall with Karla and Ben. After lunch they did more shopping and we came back to our apartment to relax. This evening we went out to dinner at the Lancelot restaurant again. The kebobs are so yummy. Gen, Joel, Agnes & Bernadette went with us. It was a fun night.

I bought an ergo which also has a hip carrier mode. I heard that most kids want to be able to look out rather than face you and couldn't imagine wearing a nearly 20 pound kid in a Baby Bjorn with no back support. Glad Lincoln likes it - it sounds like it'll be a back and sanity saver during your trip back home. Good idea practicing beforehand!
